CrossFit Virilis March Member of the Month: Jen Walls

Jen Walls is our March Member of the Month!! She’s just one of the many reasons we black the Blue. Jen has locked it in and really gotten consistent in her fitness journey. She is strong as a mother and is literally a mother – of two amazing kiddos! We love Jen’s drive, and we’re so glad to have her in the CFV family. Get to know more about her:
How long have you been CrossFitting?
I did CrossFit about 5 years ago — then got comfortable, fell off the healthy wagon, got amnesia, then finally snapped out of it and got back in and have been feeling great for almost a year now!
Favorite movement?
This one is a tough one, because I like most of them. Kettlebell swings & sit-ups!
Favorite workout?
Anything with weights and makes me better than I was yesterday.
How does CrossFit impact you on a daily basis?
Once the pain wears off, I am constantly improving, which will help me in my career as well.  You just never know when it will hit the fan, so it’s best to be physically prepared!

How has CrossFit Virilis impacted you long-term (as long as you’ve been with us)?
I want to keep improving and be as good as I once was, kinda like Toby Keith’s country song.
What would you do today if you knew you could not fail?
Join the military and travel the world. Should have done it when I had the chance, but life throws curve balls for a reason.
How would your best friend describe you in three words?
Genuine, strong and true (from her, I swear).
If you could have any meal every day for the rest of your life, what would it include?
Steak and potatoes
Favorite spot to hang out in Cibolo/Schertz/SA (or surrounding area)?
CrossFit Virilis, duh! I don’t really have a life, what can I say?  My days off consist of driving my son to all his appointments. #momlife
Choose a movie title for the story of your life.
Stronger than you know.
If you could step in a teleport for a day and go to any place and time in history, where and when would you travel to?
May 10, 2010, If you know my story, I love my life as it is now, but I often wonder what things would be like today if tragedy hadn’t changed everything in a blink of an eye.
What’s the best thing about your job?
Being a hero in a little person’s eyes and building that positive relationship with them. To protect and serve!
What are you most thankful for?
The life I have.
What gives you the motivation to get up and get in the gym each day?
Being healthy enough to watch my baby girl grow up and be successful.
Anything else you’d love to add?
Build each other up, we are all there for a reason. The scale is your enemy. We are family and we stick together. That is what it’s all about.
