CrossFit Virilis July Member of the Month: Chelsey Marks

Chelsey Marks is our CrossFit Virilis Member of the Month! She’s a bada** mama with a helluva squat! She’s strong, mighty, kind, courageous, and many other amazing things. Get to know more about her here! 
How long have you been doing CrossFit? 
For 5 1/2 years!

What’s your favorite workout?

Nancy, if I had a pick one I guess. 😊

What’s your favorite movement?

Any squat 🤪 front, back, overhead, and wall balls.

Why do you do CrossFit?

My answer to this question has expanded over the years from, “Something Chandler and I could do together,” to “Maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle,” and now to “Being the best role model and healthy momma to my sweet boy.”

What meal could you eat every day for the rest of your life?
Steak, mashed potatoes and fried okra 🤤

What has CFV helped you to make possible?
CrossFit Virilis has definitely helped me gain my confidence back after having Bryant and reach my pre-baby weight. I’ve also been able to face some fears (rope climbs) and improve on certain skills I’ve always struggled with (double unders). I’ve also gained all my strength back since having a baby, which has always been a goal.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Tia Toomey. She’s amazing (as an athlete and a person), and I would love to pick her brain and learn from her.

What are your top three favorite movies?
Remember the Titans
Miss Congeniality
The Little Rascals
(This question is too hard – I LOVE movies.)

What makes you the happiest?
My family, the beach, and ice cream.

Anything else you want to add?
CrossFit has been an absolute blessing in my life. And I’m so glad that my family found CFV and so thankful for the new family we have gained. Love y’all!
