CrossFit Virilis February 2024 Member of the Month: Jennifer Silva

We’re excited to spotlight an incredible member of our CrossFit community, Jen Silva. Embarking on her CrossFit journey just 11 months ago, Jen’s candid approach to the challenges she faces in the box is both refreshing and relatable. She navigates AMRAPs with gusto, steering clear of rope climbing and double unders, all while maintaining a good-humored aversion to being upside down.  Join us as Jen shares her CrossFit adventures, her go-to workout fuel (a tough choice between tacos and pasta), and the profound impact CFV has had on her sense of community, confidence, and courage. How long have you been doing CrossFit?
 I have been doing CrossFit for 11 months.
What’s your favorite workout?
This is tough!! I enjoy AMRAPs as long as they don’t involve rope climbing, double unders or being upside down, haha.
What’s your favorite movement?
 Front squats and cleans.
Why do you do CrossFit?
I needed someone telling me what to do and how to do it, and it’s new and challenging to me.
What meal could you eat every day for the rest of your life?
Toss up between tacos and pasta.
What has CFV helped you do, achieve?
CFV has helped me in so many ways. Community, confidence (lifting more than 10lbs), and its helped me get out of my comfort zone.
If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
My grandma, I’ve heard I’m a lot like her but she passed away before I was born.
Top three favorite movies.
Oh my gosh this is tough!! Pretty Woman, A League of Their Own, and A Few Good Men.
What makes you the happiest?
Family & deep meaningful conversations.
Anything else you want to add?
I promise I’m not as ditsy as I seem, lol.  I enjoy some good humor and wit!
