CrossFit is For Everyone

One of the things I love most about the Open is the amount of videos and posts that HQ puts up of people participating in the Open with some astounding limitations. If you haven’t seen any of them, I strongly recommend you look up CrossFit’s Instagram page. The beauty of the Open is its’ inclusion for everyone but I think it goes even a step further when you see someone with cerebral palsy, who has never jumped in their life, jump over a bar for the first time. Or the person with a severe form of bronchitis that causes obstruction of the lungs, who has never done burpees before, perform a whole host of them.

The more and more instances we have of these amazing feats the more I realize that CrossFit truly is for everyone. We want everyone. Whatever your ailment or disease may be, we’ll work around it. We understand the importance of performing constantly varied, functional movements, at high intensity, coupled with a diet of meats and vegetables, nuts and seeds, some fruit, little starch, and no sugar. It’s has the power to improve people’s quality of life and that’s what we hope to do for anyone that is willing to learn.

CrossFit gyms truly are a special and unique place. Think of the kind of attention and care a person with cerebral palsy might get at a normal gym. It would be quite the opposite. They might get looked down at. They might even get made fun of. Not here. Here we’re all the same. We all want the same thing. We all want improved quality of life. It doesn’t matter what you’re dealing with, we’ll find some way for you to do the workout to the best of your ability. CrossFit is for everyone, so bring us your sick, injured, and disabled, we’ll figure it out, one workout at a time
