CrossFit Virilis April Member of the Month: Lindsey Deaver

Lindsey Deaver is our CrossFit Virilis Member of the Month! She is a teacher, a wife, and a strong and mighty human, among many other things! We love her determination and dedication. She has committed herself to combining a great consistency with her CrossFit sessions plus progress she has made with our Nutrition Accountability Program. Her attitude is positive and bright – and you can get to know more about her here ~ 

How long have you been doing CrossFit?
I’ve been doing CrossFit since January 2020.

What’s your favorite workout?
It’s really hard to say, but I definitely like weightlifting better than cardio.

What’s your favorite movement?
I like front squats, sit-ups, and rowing.

Why do you do CrossFit?
I started out watching the CrossFit games and watching different CrossFit athletes on YouTube, and decided one day I wanted to do that as well. I really like the community and encouragement that you get at the gym. It’s very different from exercise classes that I’ve gone to in the past where no one talks to each other.

What meal could you eat every day for the rest of your life?
All different types of tacos

What has CFV helped you do, achieve, and overcome? 
When I first came I struggled doing any exercises. I’ve done exercises that I’ve never done before and that I never thought I could do. I’ve been able to gradually lift heavier and I can do some actual push ups now.

If you could have dinner with anyone dead or alive, who would it be and why?
Carrie Fisher, because I liked her personality and she was hilarious.

What are your top three favorite movies?
They’re all very nerdy: Willow, The 13th Warrior, and The Princess Bride

What makes you the happiest?
I really love to go hiking and traveling with friends. I find I’m happiest when I’m seeing something new.

Anything else you want to add about CFV, CrossFit, or yourself?
I really have enjoyed my time at CFV and have felt very welcome by everyone since day one. I have been able to accomplish so much in concerns to my fitness since I started and I’m looking forward to when I can do even more! Thank you so much for all that you do!
